First day of First grade!

Today Madison started 1st grade! It was also her first day at her "new" school. She went to a different school for Kindergarten, so she had a lot of changes today. (She now goes to a year round school). She goes for 9 weeks and then is off 3 weeks. She goes to school from 9-4. Which is the same time the boys go to their daycare/preschool! How perfect is that. So I drop her off then drop the boys off! SO COOL!

She said she had a great day and made 2 friends and can not wait to go back tomorrow to make more friends! She was not afraid or nervous, I was a little for her. She told me on the way to school that I do not need to get out of the care and walk her to the school- she could do it all by herself! She even wanted to walk to school by herself, um no not until maybe second grade!!!! Good thing I did walk her to the door, there were at least 100 first graders and 100 second graders along with all the parents. Craziness. We got in her line and kissed me good bye and did not look back, she did the same thing in Kindergarten. I am glad she likes school and is not afraid of new experiences. SO after all these months of me being so excited for her to be in school all day I found myself swallowing a lump in my throat and holding back the tears. Why? I though you only did that in Kindergarten and maybe high school. It just seems like it is going to fast, and yet you have those days where you just want them to GROW UP! So that has been my day. I have no kids at home with me 5 days a week from 9-4. CRAZY.

Weird with no kids- but I am sure you are LOVING it! I bet the house is sooo crazy. Love how Tyson is totally following her with his backpack on. That picture is a keeper. She looks pretty excited for school, and I am so glad she had such a good day.

I know what you mean about holding back tears....Evie's only 5 months and I'm already sad about how fast it's going! (Not so sad that I'm not living in the moment and enjoying every minute of it!) Just the other day when I was watching our wedding video I got completely emotional and cried after thinking about how Bryon will someday dance with our little girl at her wedding. What a nut am I?

I said the same on Wendy's blog. They start school already? Mine don't start in Alaska until the end of August and here in Oregon they would start school in September after labor day!
I walk my kids to their class the first day of school all of them. WEther they like it or not....I'm just like that though...can't let go.

Wow, what a milestone! Congratulations!

I love those hours of 9-4. (Here it's 8:30-3:30.)

Do you have year round school (I just recently found you)? I wish we did. Here we off from June 7-Sept. 4.

I'm glad they had a good first day. I'm going to ball my head off when Collin goes to first grade in a few months! I'll be all alone.

Can you believe that Theron has to be in his seat at school at 7:25 a.m.???? Not sure how that's going to work. Why do they make middle schoolers, who need a lot of sleep get up that early?
